Katrina

Hurricane Katrina blew in here on August 25, 2005 but only as a tropical storm. Further south of me they had some flooding and higher winds but at Dianes Zoo it wasn't too bad. No one knew exactly where she was headed as she swept across the southern tip of Florida and into the Gulf of Mexico. Unfortunately she was not kind to the folks in the gulf coast region and New Orleans. I had just finished installing my new 1200 gallon pond in the front before the storm hit. I have good video in the player below of how the pond looked in the beginning. You can hear the wind howling and see the vegetation being blown.
